Settings

You should enter the parameters that you want to appear in this dialog at the start of each new event in the Default Settings.

FROM/TO BOARD
Indicates the lowest and highest board no. in the set.

COPIES
You will end up with 3 duplicates of each board within the range (1-26 in the example) if you insert e.g. "3" in this field. The function is explained more in detail on the Copies page.

An asterisk in this field has the effect that there will be no limit of how many duplicates you can do.

ALL COPIES BEFORE SWITCH
This alternative is useful if you want to duplicate several boards with the same number before you switch to the next deal.

REVERSED ORDER
Tick this box if you want to start with the highest board number and then duplicate in descending order.

BOARD NO. RECOGNITION
Auto means that the board no. sticker on the back of the inserted board will govern which deal that will be duplicated. That is to say, the boards need not to be duplicated in sequence when this setting is enabled (ticked). c.f. the board number out of range page.

Check sequence is useful when you want to make sure that the duplicated boards are in numerical order. See further the board number out of range page.

SEALED/SHOW/EDIT
Sealed
blocks presentation of the deals on the screen and on the handrecords.

Show breaks the seal and makes the deals to appear.

Edit is required for Hand dealing, Reading and Restricted dealing. Edit also enables the alternatives that you find in the Edit menu. You are strongly advised to disable Edit while you duplicate because it can otherwise happen that you accidentally move cards from one hand to another with the cursor.

SUPPRESS CARDS & MAKEABLE
Ticked box has the effect that cards and hand analysis will not show on the screen (while duplicating)..Ctrl+H will have the same effect.as ticking the box.

STOP CARD
Stop card can be used  to avoid that you mix up decks when all backs are identical. This option implies that you put an extra card between deals (preferably upside down). Can only be changed in the Default Settings dialog.

DECK SORTED (chronological)
You can use this option if you must duplicate non barcoded cards with a Duplimate. This option can only be changed in the Default Settings dialog.

Note that the output will not be cross checked by the machine unless the cards are barcoded.

The order of the cards must be: Spade Ace, King, Queen...2, Heart Ace, King...2, Diamond Ace, King...2, Club Ace, King...2. That is to say, the first card that the machine shall pick up must be the deuce of clubs and the last card (on top of the deck) the Ace of Spades.

DEAL & DUPLICATE
This is the recommended setting for random dealing because it offers seamless process for dealing - duplication - analysis. Note that this is the only option that enables you to duplicate. The other alternatives will create a deal file that you can later on duplicate with Deal & duplicate.

IMPORT
We suggest that you study the
Import instruction before you use this option.

HAND DEALING
You can use this option in case the players insist on hand shuffled deals. You should be aware of the fact that Hand dealing gives flatter hands than Randomizing.

Note that you can duplicate hand dealt boards by switching to Deal & duplicate once you have hand dealt the first set.

READING
Reading is useful when you want to register hand dealt deals. The deals can be duplicated, analysed, printed, etc., once they have been registered (read).

RESTRICTED DEALING
Gives you deals meeting certain criteria. Useful for teaching. cf. the instruction
