Master players

The main rule is that players keep their original compass directions throughout. In events where the pairs alternate between NS and EW they should play in no more than two compass directions.

MASTER PLAYERS
One player (North or South) is responsible for the table. The player who is responsible for the table enters the scores and East accepts the scores on EW behalf.

We call the players starting as score keeper and score acceptor, respectively, for Master players as they are more responsible than their pair mates.

NORTH OR SOUTH AS MASTER
The TD has a choice between:
i. North (master player)
ii. South (master player)

i. North master
A player starting as North will play as East (or North). i.e. never as South or West.

Go to information showing how to play next round and (to the right) confirm seating screen

ii. South master
A player starting as South will play as East (when he does not play as S), but never as West or North

.Go to information showing how to play next round and (to the right) confirm seating screen

BOARD ROTATION
The compass direction of the room will not be consistent with the board's compass directions if the table Master (North or South) rotate the board instead of changing seats.

The recommendation is that the master of the table (North or South) rotates the board BEFORE the moving pair arrives at the table and then checks that EW sit according to the tablet (and board) before play starts.
